Hila Baggio

Hila Baggio is one of the most successful and sought after sopranos in Israel. She is a member of the Israeli Opera, and frequently performs in oratorio concerts and lieder programs.

At the Israeli Opera, she sang Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), The Child (The child dreams), The Vixen (The Cunning little Vixen), Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Olympia (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), Frasquita (Carmen), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Lucinda (Armide), First Nymph (Rusalka) and Parteonis (La Belle Hélèna).

Hila was a member of the Israeli Opera Studio in 2002-2004 where she sang the roles of Norina (Don Pasquale), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice). In Germany she sang the role of Olympia (Hoffmanns Erzählungen) at the Landestheater Mecklenburg and was invited to sing in gala concert at the Theater Gera Altenburg.

She regularly performs with the Rishon LeZion Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israeli Camerata, Israel Chamber Orchestra, The Israeli Kibbutz Orchestra, Israel Sinfonietta and Symphonette Ra'anana.

Hila's extensive career has earned her more prestigious prizes, like The Israeli Minister of Culture Award, Grabov Award, Basser Award, awards from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Israeli Vocal Arts Institute Foundation, Tel Aviv Academy of Music Vocal Competition and many others.

In 2010 Hila sang Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and the title role in the world premiere of Gil Shohat's The Child Dreams at the Israeli Opera. Other concerts include Orff's Carmina Burana with Rishon LeZion Orchestra conducted by Dan Ettinger, Mozart's Requiem with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra conducted by Omer Wellber and a concert of arias with Baku Philharmonic in Azerbaijan.

In 2010-2011 She will sing Schönberg's Pierrot Lunaire & Quartet No. 2 at the prestigious Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, Mahler's 2nd Symphony conducted by Dan Ettinger, Schubert Mass No. 6 with Junge Kammerphilharmonie Hessen, Brahms & Faure Requiem with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kerry Lynn Wilson and the roles of Marie (La fille du Régiment) conducted by Alberto Zedda and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) conducted by David Stern at The Israeli Opera.

Hila's debut single "Gush Forth My Tears" (part of the acclaimed Allergy To Consciousness singles series) is a Madrigal written by William Holborne in 1597. In this version, Hila sings all the vocal parts. The recordings were later "treated" by Dub Mentor.

Her new single Six Wings Of Bliss (a collaboration with harpist Julia Rovinsky), is based on Geoff Smith's composition to Emily Bröntes words. All the sounds on it were made by harps and vocals.

Both singles were produced by Lior Suliman & Tal Weiss.
